Job Description
We currently have a vacancy for a male live in enabler within our support team working with young man with autism who has a speech impediment and some occasional challenging behaviour. He likes to chat with his enabler and to be active and engaged.  He needs someone with him who is calm and positive.  We are helping him to develop his independent living skills and to find new ways of expressing how he feels and this is having a significant on his confidence.  He enjoys going out to his youth club, out shopping, and working in a food bank.  He is particular about what programmes he watches and he will record programmes so as not to miss them if out when they are on. He will tell you when he wants some quiet time. He needs someone to gently but firmly guide him to follow his domestic routines so that he can maintain his flat. We are looking for someone who can participate in a 2 weeks on 2 weeks off rota on an on-going basis. This placement will start in July and is a permanent contract. 

We are looking for enthusiastic, engaging male live in support worker who can deliver reliable, quality care and support to this client as part of the team enabling her to live an active engaged life.

Key Responsibilities:
1.) Supporting the Service User in her own home.
2.) Maintaining up to date records of visits.
3.) Attending supervisions with Care Managers
4.) Complete all necessary training and attend any extra (Service User specific) training that the Care Manager deems necessary.
6.) Stay up to date with Policies and Procedures.
7.) Attend team meetings

Essential Requirements:
1.) Qualifications and/or experience of working with people with LD/ASD/MH
2.) Positive can-do attitude, putting energy and enthusiasm into previously assigned tasks.
3.) Have a diverse range of relevant skills, knowledge and experience of working with people with complex needs.
4.) Good listening, time management and communications skills.
5.) Have good written skills and basic IT.
6.) Desire to make a difference in the lives of people
