Live-in Carer: 2 OR 3 Weeks On/Off Rotation

Pay: £1,200 per week

About Me

I’m a 40-year-old man living with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA). I’m self-employed, run my own business, and lead an active lifestyle. I live with my wife and my mother.

The Role

I’m hiring a live-in carer to support me with personal care and day-to-day living, both at home and when travelling to work or meetings. I am looking to hire someone to work on either a 2-week or 3-week on/off basis.

Main Duties

• Personal care: helping me wash, dress, and get ready, plus general day-to-day support.

• Toileting: helping me get to the bathroom during the day when needed.

• Transfers: assisting with transfers using a ceiling track hoist (training can be provided).

• Meals: helping prepare meals and assisting with eating if needed.

• Travel: driving me to work, meetings, or appointments when required (I sometimes work from home).

• Evenings: helping me get into bed and set up my BiPAP machine.

Nights

I usually don’t need help during the night. If I do need assistance, I will contact you using an intercom.

Downtime

There will be periods during the day when I’m working independently or spending time with friends/family. During that time you’re free to relax/do as you wish, as long as you remain within the near vicinity and available as needed.

Travel and Holidays

I travel and go on holiday once or twice a year. If a trip falls during your working rotation, you will need to accompany me.
All travel expenses and additional costs will be covered.

Requirements

• Clean driving licence and confident driver

• DBS check required

• Reliable, calm, and positive attitude

• Comfortable with hands-on personal care

Live-in Accommodation (during your working block)

• Your own room/space with a sink and fridge/freezer

• Kitchen access

• WiFi access

• TV with Sky and major streaming services
