Job Description

The placement will pay £130 per day plus a food allowance of £50 per week, or an online shop with the client. Travel will be paid from home to and from the client at the start and end of the placement (capped at £50). Bank holidays are paid at 1.5 times, and Christmas andNew Year'ss Day at 2 times. The work pattern is flexible.

The client has lived in Towcester for 7 years, having previously lived in Devon for around 20 years. She lives with COPD and so becomes breathless easily. Her cognition is good. She likes to feel in control of her life and enjoys a precise routine to her day without feeling she is being bossed around. After a period of time in a local care home has now realised she would like to return home with the help of a live-in caregiver.

She is mobile, able to stand from her chair and walk with her rollator, but at her own pace and with support at times because of breathlessness (she does not have oxygen at home). She requires support with her mobility (including using the toilet), meals, medication and personal care. Her hearing is poor and so communication needs to be clear. Whilst she appreciates her own company, she would value companionship and conversation with a friendly, supportive caregiver.
