Job Description

We are seeking a kind, compassionate live-in caregiver to support a lovely elderly couple in their home in a beautiful village in North Oxfordshire, made up of around 3600 inhabitants. The couple live on the same site as their daughter, who is very involved and supportive. The wider family are warm, engaged, and have built positive relationships with the current care team.

The couple have been receiving hourly care support for almost two years and live-in care since May 2026.

Mrs. M is originally from Yorkshire and has a warm, sociable nature attending two local social groups. She enjoys the company of others and likes engaging conversation. Mrs. M remains mainly independent with her personal care but benefits from support with household tasks, meal preparation, and the application of topical creams. She takes great pride in her appearance, and her nails are always manicured

She enjoys keeping her mind active with crosswords, reading the daily newspaper, and watching television. Her favourite programmes include wildlife documentaries and sports—particularly snooker, golf, and occasionally tennis. Mrs. M has a falls alarm for added reassurance and did have a fall at home in late April 2026.

Mr. M, also originally from Yorkshire, is living with age-related dementia and benefits from gentle guidance and reassurance throughout his day. In his younger years, he worked as a mechanical engineer and travelled overseas frequently for work.

He is a quiet and private gentleman who often prefers peaceful surroundings. When visitors arrive, he may choose to spend time in his snug, as busy social situations can sometimes feel overwhelming. He may need support with aspects of personal care, particularly with harder-to-reach areas, as well as assistance managing his catheter care and applying topical creams. Mrs. M currently helps him with his oral medication.

Mr. M responds best to calm, respectful, and consistent support, with his comfort, dignity, and personal preferences always at the heart of his care. He has a very good sense of humour and enjoys telling stories once he get to know someone.

Both clients are cheerful, kind individuals, and the current caregivers genuinely enjoy spending time with them. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is caring, patient, and committed to helping a lovely couple continue living safely and happily in their own home.

We are seeking soemone to work on a two week on two week off pattern. Handover days are Tuesdays.
