Experienced Live-in Care Assistant 

Location: Surrey
Pay: £125 - £130 per day 
Rota: TBC
Start date:  as soon as possible 

Best Care Co. is looking for a kind, experienced and respectful Live-in Care Assistant to support an older lady in her own home.

The client is an independent and private person who values having her own space. She previously worked as a nurse and prefers to remain involved in decisions about her daily life and care. The successful carer will therefore need to provide support in a sensitive and unobtrusive way, offering help when needed while respecting the client’s routines, choices and independence.

This role would suit someone who is calm, emotionally intelligent and able to build trust gradually without being overbearing.

Main responsibilities

• Providing person-centred live-in care and companionship
• Supporting the client in a way that respects her privacy, dignity and independence
• Preparing nutritious and enjoyable home-cooked meals
• Carrying out general housekeeping duties
• Keeping the home clean, tidy, safe and well organised
• Supporting with medication in accordance with the care plan
• Monitoring changes in the client’s health or wellbeing
• Completing accurate daily care records
• Reporting concerns promptly to the office team
• Communicating respectfully with the client, family and other professionals

You will be:

• Kind, patient and empathetic
• Respectful of personal space and privacy
• Calm and able to provide support without being overly directive
• Proactive, while understanding when to step back
• A capable and confident cook
• Comfortable carrying out housekeeping duties
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently
• A good listener with strong communication skills
• Able to adapt your approach to the client’s preferences and routines

Essential requirements

• Previous professional care experience
• Experience working in a live-in care role
• Good spoken and written English
• Right to work in the UK ( unable to offer sponsorship)
• Enhanced DBS certificate, preferably registered with the DBS Update Service
• Relevant care training and satisfactory references
