I have been working in the care sector for over 12 years now. I have worked in all care setting from nursing homes, residential homes, independent living and hospitals , hospice for end of live care, I have also worked with private clients as a live in carer in their homes. I have learnt a lot of skills and developed a lot of patience. I am patient and kind natured . Caring for others comes naturally to me. I am very passionate about my job. I have worked with different clients with different care needs, from dementia, autism, down syndrome, Parkinson, stroke, MS, epilepsy, after surgery care, respite care, spinal cord injury and physical disabilities, cancer, palliative care I have been trained thoroughly over the years as a health care assistant / support worker. Cheerful and kind 55 year old woman - I have cared for own elders and enjoy making them happy. I think its important to get out and about as much as possible, and / or engage in stimulating activities rather than sit around watching the television all day. I am a committed animal lover so anyone with pets gets them looked after too. Past professional work includes two years community engagement project for older people and four years delivering gentle exercise and music appreciation to elders community groups. Also have past teaching and live in experience with adults with learning difficulties. Located in Kent, and can work in Kent, London - possibly Sussex, Surrey or Essex. It would be good to care for a fellow vegetarian. I am happy helping care for women or men, and couples. . I am an English teacher although working at school was only part of my professional life. As an open-minded person I have multifarious interests and different passions. Yet, it is rather my personal qualities that make me a suitable person for the position of a carer. Very compassionate, warm and emphatic I can give good support to those in need. I am not afraid of sympathetic gesture, giving a hug or a gentle stroke. Looking for my ill with Alzheimer’s father, was a good practice of patience and any relevant skills. .
