I have been a carer/support worker for the past 6 years and currently working as a live in carer for the past one and half years. I am currently doing my QCF Diploma Level 3 in Health and Social Care, Adults. I am passionately interested in working with the elderly, frail, learning disability, down syndrome and physical difficulty clients. I support clients with various activities and their everyday basic life needs. I treat my clients fairly and encourage them to participate in their own care and support. I encourage my clients and promote their independence in all aspects of their lives. My compassionate nature for people has been practised while taking care of my grandparents, since my grandpa had a stroke and my grandma is hardly able to move.I also used to take care of my disabled friend, which was unable to move. I helped him with his education, I cooked for him and I was a good companion mostly between 2004-2008.My excellent personal care skills and high level of commitment to my work enable me help the elderly to maintain mobility through light work and walking. I also have a demonstrated ability to assist cognitive functioning through various methods such as conversation and playing chess. I am expert in grocery shopping for the household, able to plan and prepare nutritious meals, help with activities of daily living and personal care such as bathing, feeding dressing. I am enthusiastic about the Live-In Carer position and to work with a new family. I also worked 6 years year taking care of children and young adults every weekend, while being a Team Leader. ...
