NB: I AM CURRENTLY EMPLOYED BY AN AGENCY AND GOING ON MY FIRST JOB, WHICH WE HOPE WILL BE CONSISTENT ON A 2 WEEKS ON /OFF BASIS. AT SOME POINT I HOPE TO APPROACH/BE APPROACHED BY AN AGENCY WITH POSITIONS CLOSER TO WHERE I LIVE: TW200HL - CLOSE TO WINDSOR. I have over three years of live-in care experience, including dementia and paraplegic care, use of hoists, use of male catheter and manual bowel stimulation. This includes two years with Consultus Ltd, two years during which I lived in the house of a lovely lady in Hampstead village and was the 'weekly day off' carer; I also did various short stints filling in for permanent carers for 'Care Solutions' based near Windsor. I have been keeping house for my own family - including pets and much gardening - so I’m fine with all related tasks. I enjoy stimulating conversations (where possible) about either past events or current affairs. I enjoy walks, trips, jokes, good books and good films. I am very patient (I have a child with autism, so had to learn to be), organised, kind, fair, generous and was brought up to value integrity and common sense. I am an intelligent and quick learner - from previous experience I know there is usually a thorough handover from the previous carer and detailed notes on Do's and Dont's. Plus these days you can find out information about most things - including demonstration videos - on the internet (should it be available). I have a clean UK driving licence and I am registered on the DBS updated service (enhanced). As old age is eventually inescapable, I see the role of a carer as facilitating the best quality of life the client can have, with the respect and kindness I hope will be there for me when my time comes. ...
