Live-In Carer – Private Client (Central London)

£800-£1000 per week | Self-employed | 7 days on / ongoing | Breaks can be arranged | Care Gaps can be arranged

We are seeking a competent, reliable live-in carer to support an adult client with reduced mobility and vision, living independently in central London. The client has full mental capacity and an active network of family, friends, neighbours, and professionals. The carer will be one part of this wider support structure.

This is a practical, well-defined role with clear routines, regular rest periods, and private accommodation.
The 80+ year old patient has recently had a stroke, which has reduced her mobility; it is unclear how well or how slowly she will recover. We are assuming that because of her age, she will need ongoing care; however, we will have to maintain a dialogue with you to assess her needs, which may change over time. She may remain stable or improve, or her mobility may get worse.

Role Overview

• Live-in care covering daytime and overnight support

• Client is mobile indoors with assistance

• No complex medical or behavioural care

• Calm, structured environment

Key Responsibilities

• Assistance with personal care (sink wash, shower support)

• Support with mobility to/from bathroom

• Meal preparation (breakfast, lunch, dinner)

• Medication prompts at scheduled times (Morning, Lunch, Dinner)

• Hydration reminders and supervision

• Light housekeeping and laundry

• Coordinating with visitors and family as needed

• Overnight presence, and nighttime response (if required)

Typical Daily Structure

• Overnight: On-site presence, private room, assistance if needed

• Morning: Wash, dress, breakfast, medication

• Daytime: Personal care, meals, household support

• Evening: Wind-down routine and bedtime assistance

• Daily care gaps where the client rests independently

Accommodation

• Private bedroom

• Private bathroom

• Wi-Fi and utilities included

Requirements

Essential

• Right to work in the UK

• Fluent spoken and written English

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)

• Previous care experience (formal or private)

• Two references (professional or private clients)

• Comfortable working independently and following routines

Preferred (not essential)

• Care Certificate or Level 2 Health & Social Care

• Previous live-in care experience

• Local to London / familiarity with city living

Employment Terms

About the Setting

This is not an isolated or emotionally dependent role. The client has regular contact with friends, neighbours, and family. The carer is expected to work professionally, within defined responsibilities, and alongside an existing support network.

Because the client is an elderly lady, we are only looking for female carers at this time.
