Personal Carer Caught Dealing Drugs in Clients Home

08/06/2015

A personal care assistant from Wareham was arrested by policemen for selling illegal drugs inside her client’s home.

Wareham’s police chief, Kevin D. Walsh, said in a press release last June 4 that the carer, Catherine Pipher, was arrested in the mobile home of her client, an elderly person, after police detectives confirmed her illegal activities.

The 28-year-old Pipher, a resident of 549 Main St., Wareham, was hired as a private personal care assistant of the client residing in Great Hill Mobile Home Park, West Wareham. Detectivessaid they obtained reliable evidence that Pipher has been selling Percocet pills while caring for her client. She apparently carried out her illegal activities unbeknownst to her client.

Pipher was charged for peddling Percocet pills and possession of three Suboxonepackets and three pills of amphetamine.

Percocet is a brand of pain reliever composed of oxycodone and acetaminophen. Oxycodone, the stronger ingredient of Percocet, is an addictive opiate. Suboxone contains Buprenorphine, a synthetic opiate used in treating withdrawal symptoms arising from abuse of heroin or other opioids. Amphetamine is a central nervous system stimulant used in the treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), obesity, depression and narcolepsy, but may be highly addictive if abused.

Pipher has been arraigned but is currently out of jail on personal recognizance. She will be brought to court on July 10 for pre-trial hearing.
