Care Agency Calls for More Live In Care

11/02/2014

A care expert in Gloucestershire has joined the growing ranks of people who believe that live-in care could be the way forward for thousands of elderly people in the UK.

The Managing Director of Corinium Care, Clare Janik is keen to promote awareness of live-in care as an ideal solution for elderly people who cannot manage to live at home by themselves without help. She argues that not only does it benefit people by allowing them to stay in their own homes and retain a measure of independence, but that it is one of the most affordable and best options in the care sector.

Live-in care prevents the elderly from draining NHS resources, freeing up hospital beds and allowing patients to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. She also argues that live-in care boosts the economy as a fast growing portion of the private sector.

Corinium Care is situated in George St, Nailsworth, in Gloucestershire. A rapidly growing company that has won awards,  Formed in 1995 its expansion has seen the staff total to 17 members of staff as well more than 800 registered carers.

Mrs Janik reflected that with the aging population posing a challenge for the future, the government seem to fail to mention live-in care as a viable solution, when it should be at the forefront of their minds as questions are asked about where the money for social and health care is going to come from. She argues that those in the industry need to promote their services and play a more active role in promoting live-in care as the best option for those who are making care choices. Live-in care is an affordable option which provides quality care and allows older people to fulfil their wishes of staying in their own homes, and should be recognised as a real alternative to care homes.
