Hello - my name is Sheree. I look much younger than my age and I am healthy, fit and active. Although petite I am strong. I have a great sense of humour, I am intelligent, kind & chatty. I am originally from Gilwern, a small village near Abergavenny, South Wales. Here my parents had our first antiques shop, then subsequent shops in Crickhowell & Brecon, also a stall in the Jacob's Market in Bath. I am currently living with my partner in West Sussex. I am a good listener and empathise well with people from all walks of life. Some years ago I helped my grandparents when they became frail. After successfully completing a week long training course, I had a live-in job caring for an elderly lady with Alzheimer's / dementia. I assisted her with washing / showering, I administered her medication and cooked, cleaned, ironed, shopped etc. Most importantly I was a good companion to her and always there when needed for assurance. I am honest, conscientious, tactile and quick to adapt. I enjoy simple things - my hobbies include walking, reading, films, cinema, music, conversation and animals - horses especially, as I had my own horse when we lived on Hayling Island. I also enjoy riding motorcycles and ride home to Wales quite often. I have full motorcycle and car licenses. As well as my CV I have a personal profile (with photo) from a previous employer which I would like to mail to you, if you would like to see this please provide your email address. I also have this short addendum to my CV: In Oct 2013 I completed a 5 day training course with ‘Helping Hands’ at their training facility in Alcester. I was awarded the certificate ‘Care: Common Induction Standards, Social Care-Adults-England’ (and I have other relevant certificates from my time with Leonard Cheshire). In November 2013 I had sole full time care of a 96 year old lady with mixed vascular dementia and severe Alzheimer’s disease, in Redditch. She was a retired business person and was so lovely, and interesting. I wanted to make a difference to her life and I believe I did – her relatives were pleased. However, I did not enjoy being in such a busy city environment (when I am a country loving person) and for this reason I decided to resign rather than return after my break. In January 2015 I got a job as a support worker with a company called ‘Choice Support’ in Hampshire. I was assigned to a house where I supported 3 young adults and one lady in her 40's. The job entailed encouraging and nurturing them to do things like keeping their own rooms tidy and keeping the home tidy using a rota system each week. I also used to drive them to do their shopping, banking, to doctors / dental appointments etc. Although not ‘live-in’ I found once again that I enjoyed helping physically / mentally disadvantaged people and I hoped that perhaps I could find a live-in role, preferably in rural surroundings. Unfortunately my mother in South Wales had a severe stroke which left her with no speech, no movement on her right hand side and incontinence. My family found her a local nursing home in beautiful surroundings, but in April 2015 they phoned to say she'd had a third bout of pneumonia and strongly suggested that I ‘came home straight away’ as she was so weak. I stayed in Wales so that I could visit her regularly. I helped her to eat her meals and also I put her make-up on, brushed her teeth, took her favourite music CD's down and played them for her, I read articles out to her from the daily papers or women's magazines, and helped with toileting. I tried to humour her when she was not feeling bright and I took her in the wheelchair into the garden to show her the beautiful flowers and shrubs – when she would relax and snooze whilst listening to the birds singing. Sadly my mother has now died so I am looking for employment caring for somebody less able than myself. ...

I am a 57-year-old teacher of ESL in Portugal and I would like to work as a live-in oncall carer during the month of August. If I had this first experience I would consider staying for a longer period. I speak four languages: English, French, German and Portuguese and I cook fresh food very well (mostly mediterranean: fish, seafood and meat). I am willing to dedicate myself to a person as a carer. I love cats and dogs and I don't smoke. ...
