In my current role I help assist people that have mental health, dementia and other illnesses which means they cannot complete day to day tasks alone. Some of the things I do on a day to day basis: Assist to dress Assist to shower/wash/dry Administering medication Making meals Assisting to eat Applying creams Hoisting Stoma bags Catheter bags I have been my mothers long time carer as she has bipolar/back injuries and insomnia. This does not effect my working hours as she is getting a lot more support now from other services and my siblings. I help my mum through the night with getting up for drinks and making it down the stairs and I assist her out shopping as she find it difficult to go out in pubic alone. My grandma also had been suffering from dementia for 4 years and I helped support her every step. ...
