I work as a Scheme Manager in Sheltered Housing, I have been in my current position since November 2004. My job role is to ensure that the residents retain their independence and sustain their lifestyle within a safe environment. Monitoring the day-to-day needs of residents Ensuring the delivery of all aspects of support management functions, including maintaining accurate records Liaising with maintenance contractors other agencies as appropriate. Prior to this I worked for 2 years with people with mental health problems, again helping them maintain their independence in a safe environment. Prior to this I worked for about 18 months as a visiting carer, providing personal care to clients in their own homes I have worked as a live in carer with Able Care. From 2005 I have studied psychology and conducted five case studies (14 – 16 age group); two 10 week behavioural, emotional and social intervention programmes and three research enquiries e.g. the exploration in to the multi-dimensionality of participatory behaviour; and what motivates adults to return to education. I have recently passed a Master’s of Education with lifelong learning specialism (E891 – Educational enquiry; pass, 60 credits; ED841 – Understanding children’s development and learning; pass, 60 credits; SEH806 – Contemporary issues in science learning; pass, 60 credits) which is a complementary addition to the L6 PGCE course I completed in July 2015. ...
