Dear Agency, I would like to apply for a position of a live carer. Although I am a teacher by profession , I have over one-year experience looking after my mum who suffered from lung cancer and demanded 24/7 care for the last months of her life. My daily caring activities involved: toileting, transport to appointments, cooking, administering medicine, companionship and, for the last months, changing nappies. During that time I collaborated with professional nurses and carers learning all the necessary skills from them. I believe that I will make a successful carer is my personality traits including patience, sensitivity , empathy, but also resilience and ability to work hard. I always been passionate about the health and well-being of patients. I find it very easy to effectively communciate with people and understand their needs. I think communciation is very paramount when dealing with patients to ensure that they are in the right mental,emotional and physical state. At school I was assigned as the health prefect because of care for students that were injured from participation in sport activities. I had to understand their situations and react appropriately.
