I am Croatian.My name is Snjezana Pilipovic.Age 57.I am in very good condition regarding my health and would like to apply for a position as a carer through your agency. I have got a lot of experience regarding this line of profession, I worked in an Italian family for two years where I cared for a nice couple in their eighties. I am a caring individual with four years of experience in the social care field. My heart has always been in the helping professions and I want to continue my career on this path. I strongly believe in empowering people with disabilities to live a life as independent and fulfilling as possible. I found the roles I’ve been involved in so far incredibly rewarding and very much enjoy the social aspect of it, although I have also inevitably been faced with challenges. My experience involved working as a support worker for young people with autism and learning disabilities for a couple of years. This was a supported housing project aimed at assisting residents with daily living skills and social activities, care planning, providing keywork sessions and liaising with other health professionals involved in their care. More recently I have worked with a wheelchair bound elderly client with chronic health and mobility issues in her home assisting her with getting out and about, cooking, cleaning and other day to day duties. I’m thirty years old, I’ve been to university, I’ve spent a few years in the army and went on a UN tour to Cyprus. I’ve spent a lot of time travelling mainly in south east Asia. I’m interested in films and TV (pretty much anything with a good story), Books including science fiction and philosophy, Theatre, Photography and I really like travelling, exploring new places and anything new and different. My grandfather has been in need of care for several years and I have been assisting in his care often when I’ve been available, this has involved personal care such as washing, dressing and care with household. As he has got older and more frail I help make sure he walks safer about his home. He has just recently gone into a nursing home and it is most likely that he will not be returning home again. It has occurred to me that I wish to continue in care, others advised me that work as a live in carer would both be within my capabilities and rewarding. ...
