I believe that empathy and compassion are the most important qualities for a health care professional. Working as a Live-in Carer, it is my opinion that i will have the chance to further cultivate the aforementioned qualities. Moreover, I have worked for approximately 2 years in a psychiatric hospital as a trainee psychologist, and during this time I discovered that I have a tendency to care for and help people in need. It gives me a sense of reward and fulfillment to help people emotionally, as well as practically in their day-to day activities. As a person I am encouraging and supportive without becoming condescending. I believe I have a practical mind and positive attitude. I am not afraid of taking responsibilities or doing physically demanding work, I am good at organizing my time, and also I am good in motivating people (in the case the need motivation). I am a good listener and I respect the boundaries of others. Lastly, I never lose my sense of humor! Thank you. ...

I have always loved the company of older persons , since I was child I would seek out my elderly neighbours to help them in any way I could, sometimes shopping, other times cleaning and often to read and just chat. I am a young resilient patient and compassionate carer. Over the years I have wanted to help the vulnerable so I thought to myself being a carer will help me unleash my passion for assisting people. That’s how I have been working as a carer for the past twelve months. I have worked with people with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, stroke, EUPD, Diabetes, etc. I have undergone a couple of trainings and I have worked both as a domiciliary and live in carer. As a carer, i do not intend to be just a companion but also support people to recognise and develop their own strengths and abilities to live a fulfilling life. I’ve supported my clients engage in their hobbies; like cooking, shopping, making cards, going on excursions as well as make up, painting, playing games swimming, organizing parties and traveling (as I love traveling as well and do not mind having to travel out of county when my services are needed) which keeps them happy and radiant at all times. ...
