Hello, My name is steve, a Yorkshire guy from England. I'm a relatively fit, quite strong ex rugby union player, very adaptable and capable, very easy going with maybe a dry ish, very good sense of humour even in the face of adversity, tempered with realism. I am a father of five adult children, four of whom, lads, are based around Oxford but travel in Europe quite a lot with work. My oldest is my daughter, Daniella, she lives in Yorkshire. I can speak fluent English and can read/write in English. I do not smoke, I stopped about 10yrs ago. I live alone with no family ties. I am legally allowed to work in England. I can drive almost all vehicles, plant, hgv, inc. motorbikes but I prefer not to and for now this is not an option, I am not banned/barred, it's just my personal choice, it may change one day. I have a very recent UK passport and willing to use it. I'm not here desperately looking for a 'job', I'm financially fine, however. . . After 13yrs of almost total 'living in' and caring for a Lady, Sue, who suddenly died about a year ago, I'm now at a loose end. I've decided, with what I've learned, to try and help someone else who could maybe benefit from my many skills, not least my very good cooking/baking , gardening, maintenance and technical abilities(ask). I have experience in so many other things but these are more aligned to this site; Resuscitation/cpr (or whatever this years version/method of it is) Wound care Operation/injury to recovery/convalescence Lifting, moving, wheelchairs et.c Stroke Hand feeding Total incontinence Bed baths Bed sores and prevention Depression Demetia Cancer Urostomy Colostomy Catheter Colo vaginal fistula care Fissures Abscess/skin infections, wether fungal or bacterial or 'unknown self harm' ie scratching, picking, biting skin/nails et.c often during sleep. Medication including high dose morphine control All the multiple other daily drug controls Dealing with the many involved organisations and paperwork Liaising with whoever is required, amicably. Personal motivation and encouragement, to converse, smile, laugh, which is so important from my humble point of view, to at least try. Initially a week trial period to see if we have a little common ground would be a good start and then possibly become a longer term position, where each day is as good as we can make it, hopefully becoming friends along the way. When I am there I will not be pedantic on hours or broken sleep, I'm very flexible and understand that it's not a clear cut situation. The prospective employer will employ me in a self employed role, basic transport [to/from placement if rqd], accommodation, basic food will also be inclusive or I will charge separately. I will pay my own liability insurance unless it is inclusive. I have excellent references, sadly, probably to access my best reference you would require a 'medium', but I'm sure her living son would gladly give one. My list can inc. many, for a start: Naval architect, nurses, social worker, teacher, Drs, aged concerned staff et.c but be aware, if you ask then I reserve the right to also ask you to reciprocate. I am not willing, for anyone, to wrack my brain to fill in a CV with absolutely pointless detail. If knowing which/when/what schools I went to and what grades/quals I achieved is really that important to you initially then fine, I will give you all that. . . Only on proviso the information is reciprocated by the prospective 'employer' in matching quality and fully verifiable detail. Should you want an enhanced dbs check on me that is fine, I will allow you to do so at your expense £40 ish (If anyone thinks they know the rules I can Not apply for my own enhanced check!). I will then want the option for me to pay for a dbs check on any prospective 'employer', Please try asking 'me' what I'm capable of and more importantly, if I could possibly help you with what you need or you would like. Even if I thought I could help you would I choose to .. If you or I do not think me being there enhances your life then I am not for you. I live very remote and I'm certain I am virus free and do not have a problem being checked if you wish. I am also very aware of the probability of me catching this virus once in a 'placement', that is at my own personal risk, however, I understand infection/ cross contamination control and would pro-actively work to prevent it. Please do not think I will effectively work 24hrs a day, 7 days a week for next to nothing. Chancing agencies please do not waste an email with silly offers. I can commit, to long term, weeks/months 3 to 6 on 1 off, whatever, flexibility. I can be available in about 2 weeks, less maybe [date now 25/03] Best wishes folk, stay safe steve P.S read my 'cv' for contact details ...
