I am a hardworking, reliable and motivated person in any working enviroment. I have a new found drive for caring for the elderly and vulnerable groups. I have lived with and cared for a person with vascular dementia for the last 4 years. Throughout this time, I have realised how much of a priveIlage its been to be able to provide such care for a person at the most vulnerable time of their life. I have learned a great deal of patience. I have learned how to recognise symptoms of dehydration and ill health. I have learned the importance of social interaction for the person and how important it is so show the person kindness respect and compassion at all times. I also learned how to adjust meals for this person when at times she no appetite. Other tasks carried out were cooking, cleaning, laundry and looking after her personal hygene/care. I am eager to expand my skill set to prepare for a new career. ...
