At the moment I am in my 8th year being a carer for dementia patent! First assignment lasted 6ys, now I am in a new assignment! I would prefer to be a companion and housekeeper, live-in to an elderly lady or couple! Most preferable somewhere very much in the countryside! I am a good cook, very organised! During the years of working within the health care sector I have learnt how to adapt to different environments and care complex needs of clients, and provide the care required to undertake the care needed for the client to reach their optimal health. I have gained experience working alongside qualified nurses, assisting in bed making, washing and personal hygiene care of patients, assisting with getting clients in and out of bed, turning stroke patients to ensure that they do not get pressure sores and breakdown of the skin, mouth care and doing vital signs, , i.e. temp, resp. pulse, B/P, as well as caring for patients with long term diseases such as cancer, stroke and dementia. I also did my manual handling training that give me the ability to use equipment such as hoist, rotunda, wheel chairs etc. My manual handling and mandatory training is up to date. As mature carer i am committed, communicate well with clients and family, compassionate, caring and competent in my role. I am passionate and articulate in care I give and driven by motivation. ...
