Hello, i go by the name of Maggie, As a dedicated mature and compassionate individual, I am optimistic and enthusiastic by nature and enjoy making a positive impact and a difference both in and out of people’s lives. I believe that being able to care and support clients in their own homes, maintain a comfortable quality life and also to ensure their physical and social needs are met with the respect and dignity they deserve is paramount to their general wellbeing. My work experience in this field covered working in a variety of health settings including care homes, nursing homes, supported living placements giving support to the elderly for a period of 1 year during my tenure in Edinburgh Scotland where we lived for 4yrs with my immediate family. My outgoing personality allowed me to easily engage and care for the Elderly with compassion, I encouraged and assisted the clients to fully engage and participate in their daily activities and leisure pursuits. Owing to my Kenyan heritage where elderly members are taken care of by their own families, I took care of my younger siblings when our dear Mother passed on over 35yrs ago and still care for their general wellbeing, especially my brother who is bi-polar/schizophrenic to-date. In addition, I have also cared for elderly extended members of my family including my 90yr old British Mum-in-Law. I have over 20 years of work experience in diverse industries including home care, hospitality, travel and relationship marketing, in different countries around the world with dynamic teams both locally and internationally. My various work experiences gave me the exposure to handle difficult situations under pressure whilst maintaining an overall calm environment. I am Married and a proud Mother of 2 young adults who currently live in the UK, cooking for my family is one of my passions, as well as dancing salsa, aerobics, hiking, playing golf, board games, reading motivational books and travelling the world as I experience different cultures.
