I came to the United Kingdom in 2014 after being recruited in Portugal by a UK care company. I was trained in all aspects of community care work visiting clients in their own homes. I learnt a lot about various types of medical conditions, how to assist clients in a variety of settings and the administrative side of care work. As I am keen to learn as much as I can about all different aspects of caring I went on to work in a residential care home focusing on dementia patients. As part of this ongoing learning I then became a live in carer to give me greater overall knowledge of all aspects of caring. I have become very interested in more specialised care work particularly in spinal care, for that reason I came to Bristol an worked with spinal injuries as a live in carer. When my family came to live in Bristol, I couldn't work as a live in so I went back to work in the community. At the moment I am working in Hospitals with Agency work, so I have quite some availability. I would like to find some part time as a live in carer and to help people in their own homes. ...
