I am physically fit and like to do the best I can to provide support and help to the people who need it. I have had a varied role from helping patients to get up in a morning, to helping them with their meals, providing activities and stimulation for them including taking them out into the gardens for walks etc. I communicate well with others and spend a lot of time interacting with people within the home and also visitors and relatives coming to see their family. I currently work in retail management, but have extensive previous experience working as a primary carer. I am hoping to caring, as I find it both a rewarding and fulfilling line of work, in the hope that I can make a difference to a client helping them in their daily life to provide them with the assistance they may need, as well as providing companionship to them. Aside from my duties as a carer, which included tasks such as, cooking cleaning, dressing, medical and financial administrative management, and a number of other personal living assistance duties. I currently work in Education but have also spent the last 3 years helping to care for a lady with advanced Parkinson’s in her own home in Stockport. The lady sadly died in March so I am looking for another home care opportunity. I am an experienced PA but also have worked in care home management for Manchester City Council. I much prefer working with a client in their own home. It’s more personal, relaxing and familiar. The lady I cared for spent many happy hours in her garden or reading in her conservatory. She liked to go shopping when she was well enough. We had a close, trusting and happy working relationship. I assisted with all aspects of personal care, including the use of a rotating movement device and reclining wheelchair. I would very much like to continue this work in a similar role.
