Hello! My name is Grace. I'm a carer trained both in the USA as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) and caring experience in the UK. I have 6 years of caring experience with the elderly & mentally ill and experience working with children with disabilities as my introduction into caring. My experience caring for children with special needs allowed me to learn ASL (American Sign Language) but I am quick to adapt as I've recently learned many British signs are completely different to the American ones I initially practiced. Sign language and "invented/homemade signs can also be helpful tool for the elderly as well when speech has been changed as a consequence of stroke or diseases like MS. I studied biochemistry in university as part of my pre-med study and although I am not a qualified RN, I did a semester in nursing before switching majors.
