I am looking for a new position in caring and would welcome an opportunity to speak with clients directly. I am currently self employed, and work with an elderly gentleman. I am a friendly, outgoing, individual, with a very caring nature. And have driven a wheelchair adapted automatic vehicles. I am honest, hardworking, reliable and adaptable. My back ground has prodominantly been in Sales environments, and then for 9 years I was a Beautician in Spain, before embarking on my live in care Career. I have been caring for almost 6 years, and feel my career paths have given me a wealth of knowledge, understanding and empathy of people. Over the past few years I have helped look after my father who had dementia as well as many other challenging issues. I was a live in carer for an elderly lady who had Dementia, and mobility problems, a position I held from February to November 2016. I have done temporary live-in carer for a lady with MS, which required personal care, hoisting, feeding etc. , and also with a lady with spinal /mobility problems. I then stayed just over 2 years with a lady of 89 with arthritis and mobility problems. Most recent posts have been with severe spinal injury/tetraplegic, which I worked for over 2 years, and have done temporary placements for spinal injuries too. Prior to these placements, I did a live in for 3 weeks palative care. I am very much committed to the careing industry, and find it very rewarding, sad, but truly a worthwhile profession . I have been trained in dementia care, and advanced dementia care, along with moving and handling etc and would welcome the opportununity to speak with employers or family directly . I am very willing to undertake new challenges, and welcome training for particular roles to ensure I am fully prepared for specific or challenging situations. I am completely flexible with work pattern, bank, temporary or dedicated weeks etc. I am a driver with own car, so location is not an issue, I am currently self employed, again flexible, to PAYE etc Would genuinely welcome contact from employers.
