My step-father was diagnosed with a tumour and faced a long battle. I cared for him in every aspect of his life, including, personal care, peg feeding and eventually end of life. I decided during this sad time that I found this career change very rewarding and looked beyond family care and ended up working with a lovely young man with cerebral palsy. He is quadriplegic and needed support in every aspect of his day. I did not ever see this as care work as he had many people who cared for him, he just needed support in achieving the things in life we all take for granted. Everyday I strived to make him believe that nothing was impossible. While it may have been done slightly different with his condition, we would always find a way around it. I am available immediately and will offer great support skills, medication administration, safe guarding, personal care, moving and handling,food safety and hygiene, activities, keep daily Carer notes record or update your carer app through the day, great cooking skills, (including Caribbean fresh, homemade cooking), housekeeping and wonderful Companionship and fun. I am full UK citizen with valid passport. I am available and happy to work 2 or 3 weeks living in and 1 or 2 weeks off. I am a single, matured woman with no restrictions or hindrances nor distractions which I deem as a plus. Therefore, clients will have my full, undivided attention. Please note I do not have an up to date ENHANCED DBS CERTIFICATE, however, I am presently applying for a new updated one through the HMRC but you are not allowed to complete an enhanced for yourself.
