Dear Hiring Manager, I am contacting you to apply for the role of a Healthcare Assistant. After reviewing the job description, I believe that my background makes me a strong candidate for this position. My desire to help people live better lives started 5 years ago when my dad was diagnosed with Parkinson's and dementia disease. Being able to assist him in living the best possible life till his last days and knowing how it would have been difficult for her to manage on his own, made me pursue a career in healthcare. Professionally, I have worked as a care assistant and support worker, working in hospitals acute settings, and residential homes. My experience in this field has taught me to listen to and respect the service user's needs and work within their requirement enabling me to deliver personal-centred care. I understand the challenging circumstances that the service user may be facing and therefore being passionate, patient, and expressing empathy are some of the underlying factors in my approach to my work. I have supported people with different challenging needs in life i.e., cerebral palsy, Autism, learning disabilities, Dementia, stroke, end of life, Parkinson's disease, and physical disabilities. I believe my role in life is to give disadvantaged clients an advantage in life, by turning their disabilities into abilities and recognizing themselves as big positives. I understand my role as a healthcare assistant and this role has been without a doubt, the most rewarding and interesting role I have ever been part of. I enjoy being able to offer comfort to my clients, to bring smiles to their faces, to escort them, to listen to their concerns, and to reassure them. I would be the perfect candidate for this role because caring for people is my passion, and I see the opportunity to support and meet the needs of those in need of care as a privilege. My love for the profession is accompanied by a real determination to succeed and gain a degree in the field. I am caring, hardworking, reliable, punctual, and meticulous in matters of detail. My commitment to my chosen pathway is total and I hope you will consider my application. I am also willing to relocate anywhere in the United Kingdom. Thank you for your time in reviewing my CV and this letter, and I look forward to hearing from you soon. Yours sincerely Oluwaseyifunmi. ...

I'm English born and bred, educated, young at heart and willing. I have worked in care since 2017 after a lifetime teaching English around the world. My home is in Greece but I have a base in Hove, Sussex. I am looking for a companionship/housekeeping role. I speak Greek as well as English. I am up to date with training and have an enhanced DBS. I am presently working as a freelance translator and care worker.** **CARE WORK CARE- 2017 to 2019 – Helping Hands Care – Live in carer South East mainly London.** FREELANCE – 2019 to present. I started doing care work in August 2017. I did training in Athens and then in Alcester where Helping Hands has it’s head office. Training has been ongoing with online modules and many placements with different clients. I now work freelance on a couple of reliable platforms. Adult safeguarding/ Life Support/ Medication/ Dementia/ First Aid My Care journey started a few years ago when I was looking for a change in direction, and something that would allow me to spend more time in the UK where my daughters were at university. I consider myself lucky to have been able to contribute to the lives of some lovely people since I started care, having had many placements, mostly in London, one of which became permanent for eight months – with regular breaks- until the client of 102 years old was put into a home, and another where I rotated for about ten months. Last year I was the rotating respite carer for a lady in Weymouth and also worked as part of a team for a gentleman in Bristol with advanced Dementia, working as freelance. Then I went on to caring for a stroke victim for some time. This year I have been looking after a lovely gentleman who had Lewys Body dementia. He is now in a home. I am happy to work with male clients and have had several over the years. The work gives me the flexibility I need for my other interests of writing and painting. I am happy to care for people who need companionship or simply need a capable person who is well organised. I am more than willing to deal with animals should there be any, in fact I prefer a home with animals. I am vegan but happy to prepare food of any description and consider myself a good cook. I prefer South East of England placements but will consider anything that I feel I can do well. I have experience with dementia and mobility issues due to falls. Short term or respite or rotation are fine but will consider longer if it is something that suits me and the client is happy with my presence in their home. I am well aware that it is not easy for people to allow total strangers into their lives and because of this I try to give the client as much choice and autonomy as is possible under their particular circumstances. Safety and happiness must be the key considerations. I have a driving licence although I would not like to drive unless necessary in the UK as I am used to the other side of the road.. References: I can provide contact details for excellent references from clients I have cared for with Helping Hands and freelance on request Interests: . I love nature and being outside. I walk daily and do yoga . I enjoy reading, painting and cooking.I have worked as a volunteer for ‘Archelon’, the Mediterranean Sea Turtle organisation, in Glyfada and in Gytheo, Peloponnese, and several other animal and human rights organisations. I am also a published writer of children’s stories. t FURTHER INFORMATION AND WORK BACKGROUND OTHER THAN CARE Higher Education: 1980 : BA with honours in Combined Studies (Humanities)- The University of Newcastle upon Tyne 1981 : Post Graduate Diploma in the History of the Fine and Decorative Arts - The New Academy of Arts Studies, London 1992: RSA (Royal Society of Arts) Certificate for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) St Giles College, Brighton Other Work Experience: I have had extensive experience teaching English, in Greece, The UK and Saudi Arabia.
