I commenced my journey in care after spending several years as a volunteer for various organisations. I have the experience of working in residential settings, nursing homes, care at home and live-in assignments spanning over three decades. Many of the people I worked with were elderly living in care homes or in their own homes. I worked with adults with special needs also. I worked as a live-in carer with clients who had specialised needs. I have experience of working with clients who had MS, Huntington's or Motor Neurone disease. ...

I’m a patient, caring and professional health care worker with over 25 years experience in care & support work mostly in the community but have a few years experience in psychiatry hospitals. I would like to work in an environment where I offer continuity of care with one person as opposed to generalised care in a large nursing home with many service users. I haven’t done live in care before but I have supported individual residents in their own accommodation for up to 12 hours per shift.
