I have been working exclusively as a spinal cord injury carer for almost two years now and have experience with SMA recently for the past 3 months. I have experience with catheter care, hoisting, bowel management (manual evacuation and Navina system (water system)), and know about Nifedipine administration in cases of emergency. I am a mature carer with heaps of experience of work settings and situations. I have full training , up to date DBS , lots of references. I enjoy working with people within their own home, encouraging and enabling them to live full lives and maintain their community and family ties aswell as building on new experiences. I am able to commit to the live-in aspects of the job , i have experience working with clients pets etc. I have a background in Social work and so am used to working in a multi agency manner and have no anxieties working as an advocate for my clients as and when needed. I have enjoyed a range of careers, as a foster parent and ran my own business as a cafe owner at the seaside.I can pretty much put my hand to most things and always keen to learn new skills ...
