Hi My name is Gary and I am originally from Scotland, although I now work with clients all over the UK. After working for 12 years as a mental health support worker, I decided to broaden my horizons within the social care sector and for the past 7 years have worked as a live-in carer. I work in a person-centred way with a broad range of clients and conditions, including: dementia, Parkinson's, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental illness, palliative care and end of life care. I provide practical and emotional support to help people live a safe and independent life in their own home and community. This includes medication administration, personal care, continence care, moving and handling using hoists and other aids, cooking, cleaning and of course companionship. I am also happy to support clients to go on holiday at home or abroad (I have a wide experience of travel all over the world) I am also an animal lover, so pets are no problem. I have an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as a care certificate. I have my own carer liability insurance and I am fully vaccinated, including boosters. My preferred employment type is self employed live-in care. ...

I am a 24 year old female from New Zealand, living in Weston-Super-Mare as a UK citizen. I discovered my passion for caring in my first job as a support worker in 2024. I supported people with various conditions such as autism, learning disabilities and mental illness. The rewarding nature of the role as a support worker far outweighed the challenges and has inspired me to deepen my experience as a care giver / support worker and my education in mental health, so that I can be of further service to those in need. I have an automatic UK driver's license and working toward gaining my manual license. I would like to gain my level 3 certificate in health and social care this year (2026). ...

I am a dedicated, reliant and attentive professional whose priority is to deliver meaningful, holistic and compassionate care, whilst meeting the needs/wishes of the individual. I understand it is more than providing care, it is crucial to build an honest, therapeutic rapport, whilst ensuring the safety, wellbeing, dignity and respect is always maintained for the individual. I am organised and efficient with excellent communication and documentation skills (both in English and Welsh, fluently). I can manage my time effectively, plan and implement whilst using my initiative where appropriate. I can cook, clean, organise, manage day to day activities of daily living and requirements smoothly and in a timely manner. I work, discretely, expertly and calmly under pressure whether lone working or as part of a team. I also believe maintaining a clean, polished and approachable appearance is important and symbolises professionalism and structure. ...
