Hi My name is Gary and I am originally from Scotland, although I now work with clients all over the UK. After working for 12 years as a mental health support worker, I decided to broaden my horizons within the social care sector and for the past 7 years have worked as a live-in carer. I work in a person-centred way with a broad range of clients and conditions, including: dementia, Parkinson's, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, mental illness, palliative care and end of life care. I provide practical and emotional support to help people live a safe and independent life in their own home and community. This includes medication administration, personal care, continence care, moving and handling using hoists and other aids, cooking, cleaning and of course companionship. I am also happy to support clients to go on holiday at home or abroad (I have a wide experience of travel all over the world) I am also an animal lover, so pets are no problem. I have an NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as a care certificate. I have my own carer liability insurance and I am fully vaccinated, including boosters. Since April 2024 I have been a carer for a service user that required complex care, but recently due to not being able to offer my regular hours I have started working bank with a care company. I am a homely person, love cooking, cleaning and organising, and I enjoy taking care of people and making sure everyone is happy, well-fed and comfortable. Due to my circumstances regarding my sudden loss income, as well as a recent car accident and waiting on hearing from my insurance, I am looking for a company that will allow me to continue working in care whilst providing secured hours as soon as possible. I have recently registered with SSSC, have a PVG that was updated end of December 2025 and would like to ask if you support SVQ training, as I would love to do my SVQ2. In terms of working patterns, I would be happy to discuss further and am quite flexible, and am available for an immediate start. I am also happy to travel throughout Scotland and England (with the latter on a 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off basis) ...
