For the past seven years in this position, working as a live in care assistant I am continuously humbled and inspired to be able to offer my support to all my clients. I am delighted to be a part of a love just blooming, the pact of a friendship and each little moment of happiness that i can give to someone in need. My aim and personal objective within this job role is to actively support people to live a successful happy life in the comfort of their own home environment. Providing reassurance, encouragement and motivation that will enable them to do so. As a live-in care assistant from 2018– till present, I have worked with few agencies both introductory and managed service providing care and support for the elderly. I have worked for a wide variety of live-in clients including individuals both male and female, married couples and in two carer placements, in London and in the countryside. Many of my clients had dementia, or were physically frail and needed help with personal care and dressing. But, what they all had in common was the need for support and companionship, something that I find very fulfilling to provide! I believe I have gathered quite a bit of experience throughout my placements starting from companionship to complex care, working with people living with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, MS, Stroke, Disability, End of Life and Palliative Care, or people requiring just that extra hand of help, company and reassurance so they can still lead a fulfilling and successful life in the comfort of their home environment. What I find most rewarding is my work makes a real difference to people’s lives, helping them to achieve independence and maintain their dignity throughout their twilight years. I can bring cheerfulness, good company and conversation to someone who is alone or isolated and at the same time, I get to meet interesting people with fascinating life stories. I am naturally caring by nature and I like looking after others, so it was a career that always interested me. It is very rewarding to give someone a better quality of life. I also feel strongly there is no place like home and live-in care is a hugely positive alternative to care homes for elderly people. The live-in lifestyle suits me and I love spending time with people–talking to them, cooking for them and generally making their lives happier and more enriched. ...
