Hello! I have been a carer for the last 26 years it is all i have known and all i want to do. I worked in a care home for 15 years which is where i did a lot of my training. Nvq 2, End of life, Pallitive care, Dementia care. I then moved on to start live in care which i had been doing for the last 6 years with the same family, untill sadly that placment came to an end. . I truly enjoy live in car it is very rewarding and satisfying, and Its a job i love to do. Every person is an individual and so Person centred care is very important to me and the person i am caring for. It enables that person to remain as happy and as independant as possible, and too live life to the full. I am a happy and caring person, very patient and undetstanding, and a good listener. But i think my best quality is empathy, because being able to put your self in somebody elses shoes and really try to understand what they might be thinking or how they might be feeling, helps me aa the carer to be the best support i can be. I am looking to work 2/3/4 weeks at a time and i am happy to travel up to 2 hours with a starting weekly salary of £950.00 per week. Ideally it would be great if i could find an ongoing placement where there is another carer who also likes to work the same pattern.
