Hello, I’m Zion. Caring for people has always been my passion, a quality I’ve embraced since birth. I began my journey in the helping profession in 2013 as a Volunteer Youth Worker and have since gained diverse experience in various caregiving roles, including live-in care, support work in supported living settings for young autistic adults, care assisting in care homes, and serving as a registered backup carer for a foster parent. Currently, I work in hourly care. As a live-in carer, I have supported various clients, including a gentleman with Alzheimer’s disease for three and a half years. I guided him through the early to late stages of his condition, including the aftermath of a significant stroke and multiple TIA events. Our time together concluded in June of 2024 as he needed more care and was moved from home. I was supporting a different gentleman on a daily basis for seven-hour shifts, a role I had held for just over a year, until November 2024 when my placement came to an end due to medical changes and the need for more care. However, I am ready to return to live-in care, where I can provide more consistent support and companionship. I have a passion for cooking and enjoy preparing meals from scratch, as I believe that healthy, home-cooked food can significantly enhance one’s overall wellbeing. In addition, while I am a novice at baking, I do make some delicious muffins! And I absolutely adore fur babies!! I find fulfilment and purpose in my work, approaching each client with a person-centred philosophy that prioritises dignity and respect. I believe in involving clients in decision-making, giving them privacy and space while also being available for conversation and companionship. In my free time, I enjoy going to the gym, and I am a Christian, with my faith being an important aspect of my life. I am trustworthy and can provide references from past clients’ families and former colleagues. My upbeat nature, positive attitude, and unwavering willingness to care allow me to create a supportive and nurturing environment for those I serve. ...
