About the service user

I’m a 45 year old man with a physical disability, using a wheelchair.  I like being active and to have continuity of reliable and regular support workers. I require support around my house, and with accessing social and physical activities.

Hours and rate of Pay

All day for 3 weeks, before changing over with a second PA.  Everyday the PA is given a 2 hour break a day, the timings are agreed between the PA and Dale.

On a ‘3 weeks on/3 weeks off’ basis, on a rota organised between the 2 PAs.  £85 a day.

What you would be doing…

Support with personal care in a dignified manner (including working with another care staff in the mornings), meal preparation and cooking, mainting a daily routine for the preparation of the medication.  Support with everyday chores, laundry, maintaining the domestic environment to the required standard and shopping (Dale does a major groceries shop online, every 2 weeks).  Support with social and recreational outings and accompany on medical appointments. Establish a working relationship on a one-to-one basis. Discuss and resolve problems as they arise.  Maintain daily written records and undertake any duties which may be reasonably allocated and fall within the scope and responsibility of the job   Needs may vary on a daily basis, therefore hours, duties and tasks may form the care plan. To undertake any training as appropriate for the role.

A female who enjoys being active, who has the skills to promote my independance. Some knowledge and experience of with physical disability. You should have a genuine interest in the provision of high quality care, to be able to work flexible hours and be a good communicator and also possess the motivation to develop trust and understanding within the role.
