Job Description

I am a 35-year-old female who likes watching tv, listening to music, going out shopping in Primark or secondhand shops looking for bargains or going out for dog walks in new places. I like to visit craft fairs and when well enough, do crafts at home. I love dragons and skulls and have a huge collection on show.

I have FND which is a functional neurological disorder. I have functional seizures, chronic migraine, chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. I am waiting to be tested for autism. I am extremely sensitive to strong smells. I need live-in support to help me with all aspects of personal care, to support with manual handling tasks, to support me when I have functional seizures, to prepare my meals, to give me my medication when needed and to take me out of my wheelchair adapted vehicle when I am well enough. Excellent, personalised training is provided to give you knowledge and understanding of functional neurological disorders including epilepsy and sensory impairments alongside support from the client's family. The ideal candidates will be female, someone who does not smoke or vape at all and will be willing to adhere to strict rules regarding perfumes, deodorant, detergents, and hair washing products and should be car drivers over the age of 25 with three points or under for insurance purposes and feel comfortable driving a wheelchair accessible vehicle.

You will be working alongside another colleague on a 2:1 basis for moving and handling tasks and personal care but also working on your own with me. It is important, therefore, that you are happy to work alongside another person. You must also have six months to a year's live-in care experience and advantageous to have worked with a client with unpredictable needs or seizures. 

You will be required to work  2 weeks working, 1-2 weeks break, on a rolling rota. The weekly pay is £850. Whilst living in to support our client, accommodation is provided, free of charge.
