Job Description

Accommodation is a self contained, two bedroomed apartment. All bills paid.

45 hours a week. Generally 5 days but flexibility required.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a multi-talented, flexible carer / Housekeeper / cook with a strong work ethic to work for a respectful, low key Family with high values.

This role will be working within a small, friendly team and will report directly to the estate manager.

Carer to an elderly lady who is presently independent, only 10% of present role is caring.

This will inevitably grow over time so must be flexible as the requirements of the role change. The rest of the role requires you to be helping around the house with housekeeping, cooking, shopping, and driving.

We are looking for someone with a hands-on attitude and willingness to get things done. Professional, helpful, patient are important characteristics.

This person will also cover for the current Housekeeper when she is on annual leave.

The principal and his wife travel extensively so they must have total trust and confidence in this person caring for their mother 24/7 52 weeks of the year. Their well-being is essential.

HOUSEHOLD OCCUPANTS:
90 year old Grandmother (Adjoining Annex to the Main House- ground floor)
o Presently very independent and mobile.
o Requires very little assistance / care each day.
o Current assistance required: administering medicines, driving to appointments etc.
o In the future when she becomes less mobile, he would require more personal care assistance e.g. helping to wash, changing dressings, handling and moving, etc.

70 year old Principal & Wife (Main House)
o Very active, well-travelled but low key.
o Very independent, like to spend time with their Family and 3 grandchildren.
o The Wife spends most of her time at this property, the Principal travels to and from London frequently.
o They travel extensively.

SUPPORT REQUIRED

Must have previous experience with caring for elderly and working in a similar set up.
Responsible, common sense, able to use initiative and be proactive.
Health & Safety, First Aid – medically trained so knows what to do in the event of certain situations.
Keep medical records up to date, make and attend appointments as required, both medical and personal.
Record and dispense medication morning and evening, apply ointments and change dressings if required.
Ability to work collaboratively and harmoniously as part of a team and ensure 24/7 care is provided by the team at all times.
Driving for the family to appointments, shopping etc.
A good working culture is important and work ethic is vital.
Driving Family members shopping or to appointments.
Basic household admin, dealing with tradesmen, good with email/internet.
Close attention to detail.
Discreet and professional personality, honest and trustworthy.
Must speak excellent English
