Live-in Carer for Elderly Woman with Parkinson’s

About the Role

We are seeking a kind, patient, and experienced female live-in carer to support an elderly woman living with Parkinson’s disease. She has a loving family and is gentle by nature. The role involves providing personal care, companionship, and assistance with daily activities to help maintain independence, comfort, and dignity in her own home.

The ideal candidate will be calm, reliable, and have a genuine passion for caring for others.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide personal care (assisting with washing, dressing, mobility, and toileting).
   
• Support with medication management as directed.
   
• Prepare and serve nutritious meals.
   
• Assist with light household duties (laundry, tidying, hoovering, bed making etc).
   
• Offer companionship and emotional support.
   
• Accompany to medical appointments, social activities, and errands — car and full UK driving licence required.
   
• Monitor health and report any changes or concerns promptly to the family.

Requirements

• Previous experience caring for individuals with Parkinson’s or similar conditions preferred.
   
• Full, clean UK driving licence and access to your own car would be preferred. Although this is not a deal breaker for the right person. 
   
• Compassionate, patient, and trustworthy nature. As well as a clean and tidy person. 
   
• Good communication skills.
   
• Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one).
   
• Proof of right to work in the UK.
   
• Able to provide recent, checkable references.
• Person must be looking for a long-term role, ideally with the hope of staying for years. This role is not for someone who only wants to stay a few weeks or months and leave.
