Job Description

The placement will pay £130 per day plus a food allowance of £50 per week, or shopping with the client. Travel will be paid from home to and from the client at the start and end of the placement (capped at £50 each way). Bank holidays are paid at 1.5 times, and Christmas and New Year's Day at 2 times. The work pattern is flexible.

The client is a high-achieving gentleman living in a large house on the northern boundary of Banbury. He is living with the early stages of dementia with his wife and other staff at home. He is largely independent and able to perform most tasks, but needs supervision and help to remain active. While at home, he enjoys walking and various sports (tennis, cricket). Out of the home, he enjoys trips to museums (especially motor museums), country houses and other activities. He has a second house in London and may also travel there from time to time for short visits.

He is reluctant to accept his diagnosis and needs a sensitive caregiver to integrate into the house and the support provided by others. He gets up early and makes a cup of tea, returning to his room to read the newspaper. He needs support with breakfast from 8.00 am, along with other meals throughout the day. He also requires some help with dressing, looking after his home and activities he would enjoy throughout the day. He also may need support with his medication.
