Job Description

Immediate start. Placements can be flexible and may be from one week on / one week off to 3 months on 3 weeks off, depending on the client's need/availability.

Working as a Live-In Care Assistant is an opportunity to help elderly and vulnerable members of our community to live independent, fulfilling lives, ensuring they remain in their own homes for as long as possible, they may not be able to look after themselves.

As a Live Care Assistant, you will live with your clients, giving them as much help and care as they need while enabling them to live as independently as possible and ensuring their well-being and happiness. The role of a Live In Care Assistant will include but not restricted to:

  • Providing support and encouragement to empower the client to lead an independent lifestyle
  • Washing, bathing, showering, oral care, shaving etc
  • Communicating with family, friends, and other healthcare professionals on their behalf
  • Shopping, meal prep, laundry, and general housework
  • Assisting the clients from morning till bed with activities such as eating, toileting, hobbies and crafts, appointments, and social events.

 

Most importantly, as a Live In Care Assistant, you are there to offer your client companionship, ensuring they have stimulation and conversation, someone to battle over a game of Scrabble, accompany them to their local bingo or knitting club, or simply be someone to talk to when needed.

Benefits of the Live-In Care Assistant role:

  • You will be entitled to a 2-hour break daily, to be arranged and agreed upon individually and in accordance with the client's needs.
  • Food is provided by the client or by an allowance paid to the carer of £50 per week. (Depending on each placement and to be agreed before the placement commences)
  • The client will provide a well-set-up private room for the carer to use.
  • The client pays household and utility bills.
  • Clients will also provide: WIFI, use of washing machine, cooking facilities and other household necessities
  • Placements can be flexible and may range from one week on / one week off to three months on three weeks off, depending on the client's needs.
  • Live-In Care Assistants are also entitled to annual leave, statutory sick pay, pension, tax, and NI paid by the company.
  • Full support from an experienced dedicated office team
  • Insurance cover: Q1Care has employer liability and public liability insurance to £10,000,000

 

Requirements of the role:

  • PAID live-in experience
  • Ability to obtain a clean DBS check - paid for by Q1Care
  • Uphold wider care regulations, safeguarding principles and others
  • The ability to treat all clients with respect and dignity
  • Be prepared to complete full training
  • In certain circumstances, have access to a car and be willing to support clients to local outings, are not always essential but are preferred
