I’m currently a self employed carer and have been for nearly 7 years. I have many years of care experience having worked in various settings which include 10 yrs within the NHS. I’m 62 yrs old but still have a lot to offer. Self employment is financially good but there are also a few pitfalls. I would much prefer to have the guarantee of regular work and income, the nature of the job and being self employed isn’t always conducive. I am a reliable, conscientious and caring person. I'm highly motivated at work, thorough and take pride in my varied work roles. I have experience in healthcare, events management and farming. After graduating I worked for the NHS as a nursing assistant and later a rehabilitation assistant for stroke patients. I was working in a team of Therapists and Nurses, assisting them to deliver care plans to patients and reporting back concise feedback on patients progress. I provided excellent professional care at all times and understand the importance of listening to & understanding patients needs. Empowering the patients and supporting them throughout their rehabilitation was a major part of my role.
