Given my experience in the health and social care field I feel as though I have the relevant skills that can help me adhere to any situation when placed in a professional setting. Having a brother with disabilities enables me to bring first-hand experience on dealing with any given situation or problem that may arise. I feel as though working in different care homes as given me the substantial skills that are required of someone. Having good communication and interpersonal skills allows me to adapt myself In any given situation. I feel as though having good communication and interpersonal skills are vital when dealing with someone with disabilities as it’s important for them to feel safe and comfortable with the member of staff whom may be there to take care of them. Furthermore, given that I have achieved an NVQ in Care shows that I am able to put all theories that I have learnt into practise. Achieving the NVQ has enabled me to broaden my knowledge in regards to the health and social care environment and therefore I am keen to use what I have learnt in another professional setting. Having a brother with disabilities has taught me to use my own initiative as an unforeseen situation can arise almost indefinitely where I am required to think on the spot and think of a possible solution. Prior from working at Webhelp I was a Support Worker, and therefore I know it’s very important to have a flexible timetable. I am aware that I can be called into work at any time of asking and there is no doubt I can come to work whenever it required of me to come to work. During my previous job I was required to stay the night at some homes and I felt at total ease and was very comfortable in the environment I was put in to. ...
