Having practised as a teacher in Zimbabwe for 12 years, I now wish to pursue a career in Health and Social Care, focusing on Health. Have just completed my BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care at the University of Derby and I expect to graduate with a 2.1 class honours in June 2015. Accordingly, in seeking employment with your organisation, I believe that I possess the strength and personal attributes to work with people facing social exclusion and need assistance with their personal care . Indeed, an ability to enhance my existing knowledge in this particular arena of health care is one which I would especially relish and is a further reason for my choosing to apply to this particular job. My academic strengths are complemented by a range of relevant personal experiences that highlight not only my suitability for this job but also my longer-term career goals. Through working in a variety of nursing homes, residential care homes, dementia assessment wards, and acute mental health wards, I have an extensive set of inter-personal skills that enable me to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people, from nursing professionals to high ranking consultants, as well as individual patients and their concerned relatives. These are transferrable skills that I will bring with me to this job. In addition, as an altruistic person with a strong sense of empathy, and using the skills that I have learnt in both nursing, shadowing placements and my former career as a teacher, I hope to ensure that fellow work mates and clients who may be more reticent in voicing their opinions and views will feel that they are in a safe environment in which we can all work as ateam. Indeed, as a committed Christian who attends church regularly, I believe that it is my duty to assist and help others in all walks of life whenever the need or opportunity arises. With relevant clinic skills acquired through placement, a proven track record in both oral and written communication, and well-honed interpersonal and team-working skills, I am a full-time mother of four who is used to the demands of running a busy household. Thus, when not involved in active study or work, I am proficient in finding time to indulge my passion of reading. As a result, I possess exceptional time-management skills and am confident in my own abilities to make decisions in a proactive and professional manner at all times. These are strengths which, I feel, are vital to my successful undertaking the job. ...

A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, that is why the first step I'm taking towards my career goal is gaining qualifications and training in care. Growing up in Zimbabwe surrounded by people with special needs especially family members and having to provide care for them at a young age with no experience whatsoever and being able to deliver made me realise I want to care for others as a career. At 18 I decided to join the care community as a healthcare assistant in a care home, and given the right training I would bean ideal candidate for live in care because of my caring passion previous experience. I am also punctual, a good team player with good communication skills and always up for a new challenge. ...

I have 2 years of experience working as a Support Worker in a 24 service residential care home, in a mental health service. I have previously worked as a volunteer in an older persons care home. I am a friendly, positive and caring individual. I like helping people to improve their lives by supporting them in areas that need attention. As a support worker in a mental health service i encourage people to be be more proactive in their daily living skills, finding meaningful activities, managing their money, and much more. I am looking for a live in care job because i enjoy caring for people, i have no dependants and i am a single person with no responsibility, with the exception of a dog. I would prefer to work in a setting where i get to have my own accommodation where i can still be with my dog. I dont drive which is also why i would prefer to be in a place where no travel is required, although i have no problems with public transport. ...
