Working in elderly care has really given me an insight into how certain people react to different things. I've realised that im not just an individual, I'm an individual with a goal and a hope in life just like the ladies and gentlemen I care for. Everyone wants something out of life and I want to be the best possible person I can be. I care a lot about what I do and I give my everything to everything I do. I've worked within a team and on my own, both I found enlightening, I feel in a group I can give something different and fun, I like to challenge myself and my colleagues and try to come out with better results each time. I'm an avid reader and I tend to enjoy studying when I'm at home anything from dementia to learning how to knit, I like to test my boundaries and try new things and keep myself motivated. CURRENTLY I AM WORKING AS A SUPPORT WORKER, SUPPORTING SERVICE USERS IN THEIR OWN HOMES WITH PERSONAL CARE, COMPANIONSHIP, SHOPPING, LAUNDRY, GENERAL HOUSE CLEANING AND COOKING, THE SERVICE USERS I HAVE WORKED WITH INCLUDE BUT NOT EXHAUSTIVE TO THOSE WITH AUTISM, EPILEPSY, LEARNING AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES AND THE ELDERLY. I HAVE HELD THIS POSITION FOR 5YRS AND IT IS A POSITION I HAVE ENJOYED. I HAVE NEVER WORKED AS A LIVE IN CARER BUT I BELIEVE I WILL BE ABLE TO PERFORM THIS ROLE WITH MUCH EASE AS MOST OF THE REQUIREMENTS I FEEL HAVE BEEN COVERED IN MY ROLE AS A SUPPORT WORKER BESIDES LIVING IN A CLIENTS HOME FOR LONG. I HAVE ALWAYS PERFORMED TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY IN MY ROLE AND HAVE BEEN ABLE TO BRING POSITIVE CHANGE TO MOST OF THE SERVICE USERS I WORKED WITH. I ENJOY HELPING THOSE IN NEED WITH PASSION AND A SMILE ON A CLIENTS' FACE MAKES MY DAY.
