I have several years working as a carer,and have an NVQ 2. I took early retirement from the Civil Service 8 years ago and prior to getting involved in care I did voluntary work as well as starting a university course. I believe that good carers must be dedicated,honest and reliable whilst respecting the dignity and independence of the client. I also believe that a client should be treated in the same way I would be expected to be treated. and to enable both choice and control .I feel it is very important that clients are helped to maintain their confidence and self-esteem,partly by having confidence in their carer.Communication with the clients family and friends is part of that process. I am fit and enjoy golf,squash and football. I love history (especially Anglo Saxon),walking and visiting historical sites.I enjoy meeting people and can converse on all levels.
