Hi, I chose to work in care because I enjoy supporting people to live well — not just with the everyday basics, but in a way that feels meaningful and comfortable for them. For me, it’s about helping someone feel at ease in their own life and able to make their own decisions about how they want to live. I place a lot of importance on being respectful and non-judgmental, supporting each person’s routines, preferences, and way of doing things. I also value getting along well with others — the person I’m supporting, family members, and colleagues. Over the years I’ve built strong working relationships, and I’m often asked to return. I’m reliable and take my commitments seriously. Having worked flexible hours for many years, I’m very adaptable to different situations and routines. I’m also careful, professional, and mindful of safety in both practical terms and in how I conduct myself day to day.
