Dear Sir/Ma'am, I do not have any professional live in care experience however, my Step Father has Parkinson's Disease and I help my mother to care for him in our home. I also take care of him alone when my mother is away or unable to do so. I understand the importance of maintaining ones dignity and respect whilst caring, through experience with my own Step Father, and I have now discovered that I want to go into Caring as a career. I also believe that a good sense of humour, and knowing when to use it with each individual, is a very important part of caring. I believe the purpose of caring is to enable people to live a "normal life" as individually as possible, not to make them feel they are incapable. I am currently in Brazil on an exchange programme so I am only contactable through email, skype, whatsapp and facetime. I return to England on 22/06/17 and I am available to start work very soon after. ...

A brief intro about me. Thank you for taking an interest. My duties as a care assistant not only included performing personal care, bed resting, assistance with feeding and toileting, manual handling, changing colostomy bags, but also 1 to 1 care for extended periods of time, where I got to learn the service user’s needs and habits, as well as give any assistance needed that didn't surpass my skills/job description. I have an enthusiastic desire to learn more about subjects subjectively interesting, I enjoy the outdoors, surfing the web, reading, photography, I'm capable of developing strong working and personal relationships, based not only on positive emphatic behaviour, but also understanding, patience also being one of my virtues. I enjoy reading English non-fiction literature. ...
