Good Day, I am a UK citizen currently living in South Africa but am seriously considering returning to the UK if I can find suitable caring work, I am a young-at-heart, reasonable fit lady of 61 years, and have a UK driving licence and a BA (Hons) degree from Central/St Martins. I do have a good sense of humour, Iam intelligent, educated and mature, and I really do have a special rapport with animals and enjoy cooking. This position sounds perfect for me. My only hesitation in applying is due to finding myself completely out of my depth with the last lady I cared for who behaviour and personality were increasingly affected by secondary brain tumours. She became quite abusive and I felt trapped in an unsupported environment. So my question is, what would be your response if, despite every effort to be 'flexible and adapt to the client's lifestyle", I felt uncomfortable living in such close proximity with someone who is, essentially, a stranger? I look forward to hearing from you. ...

Hello, thank you for reading my profile. I'm a university educated British health care assistant with approximately seven years of care experience (both as a live-in and live-out carer) and i'm currently looking for ongoing live-in or live-out care work (i'm happy to consider both long term and shorter term placements which last preferably at least for a few months or longer) and ideally i'd like to work five days per week with 2 days off but i'm also open to other work patterns which have regular time off each week to enable a good work/life balance. I believe (also based on feed back i've received) that some of the qualities i have that make me a good carer include being kind, empathetic, reliable, a good listener having strong communication skills, being well organised and good at working under my own initiative. i also enjoy supporting my clients to live a fulfilling life and to remain as independent as possible in their own homes and i'm also experienced at liasing with family members and other health care professionals as required and at accompanying my clients to appointments and social activities etc. I have a current DBS, an NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and all the required training certificates for carers and i'm a non-smoker (so i prefer to work in non-smoking environments only) and i'm a non-driver so my preference is to work in the London area (although if travel is covered by the employer, i will also consider working outside London if the location is within short walking distance of transport and facilities). ...

Hi Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am looking for work as a live in carer. I am currently working as a community garegiver, I do more than is expected and work more hours than I am paid for as I always want to do more and never feel ready to leave my lady's and for that reason I have decided to step into live in care. I am hardworking, caring and will always go the extra mile. Clean and tidy in my appearance as well as the home. I can cook good wholesome foods and I am interested in healthy foods and nutrition. I believe that one should listen to their body. I am over 50 and have 2 grown up daughters one of whom still lives at home with me. Because my daughter is still at home I don't want to be away from home for longer than a week at a time... I understand that this will limit the options open to me. I am happy when I am with my ladies when we are doing crosswords, playing cards or scrabble, watching musicals and singing along. Thanks Karen ...
