Since 2007 I have been working as a carer, a job I had never done before. All I knew about caring for someone was learnt from caring after my own family members in time of need. I never expected to embrace and love this job so much. I gave everything, I realised that for this job you must be a reliable person, patient, and sometimes even to put the people I care for before myself. In 2011 I got appointed to Senior Carer and I felt that I needed to go further, and I have. I gained my SVQ 3 qualification and Professional Development Award - Health and Social Care Supervision (PDA). I am also registered with SSSC since April 2016. I gained a lot of knowledge after my qualifications, regarding the people we care for and carers. It is an immense satisfaction when you go into somebody's home and you see a big smile on their face, maybe they won't remember your name but they will remember what you have done for them.
