With over ten years of live in care experience in the UK, I am currently seeking short term placements whilst looking for long term live in care employment. My experience over 26 years of nursing -with the past 11 years providing live in care - includes dementia, stroke, cancer, end of life, palliative, PEG feeding, indwelling catheter care, continence issues, wound healing, COPD, autoimmune diseases, mobility issues, orthopaedics and emotional support and companionship. Positive, proactive, flexible and reliable with lots of common sense, I enjoy discussing a wide range of topics and taking clients out for social outings. I can assist with post hospital discharge and basically anything that needs doing to help to make a clients life more safe and comfortable. Warm and friendly with a good sense of humour, I am an animal lover and non smoker. I have a valid and clean EU driving license (no car), excellent written and verbal references, manual handling, food safety and hygiene certificates and an Enhanced DBS certificate etc. British and New Zealand Passports, late 50's.
